The International Centre for Birds of Prey, Newent

This was an excellent outing and educational experience, as well as being very affordable. The birds were out on their perches and in the middle section the bigger breeds were on perches as well. Over 200 birds at the centre. Bird enclosures were immaculate, fresh bins and water, water dishes being scrubbed, left overs being picked up, staffed was ready and willing to have a chat. The bathroom was spacious and neat and tidy. The gift shop had a wide range of items. Watched the demonstration of the birds flying and it was fabulous. 4 birds were shown (each a different bird). Handlers showing the birds were very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts.

An excellent experience. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and passionate about the birds & their welfare. The grounds are immaculately kept, the cafe was well above average in the food served and the prices were no more than expected for this kind of day out. Tickets issued are valid for a whole year - we will certainly be back soon. Birds are well looked after and there is no apparent exploitation. I could go on and on. This is at the zenith of public experiences, in my opinion.
