Gladstone Pottery Museum, a working museum of a medium-sized pottery, displays not only mass-produced pottery but also more artistic pottery, such as the Gladstone Vase by Frederick Alfred Rhead. The museum has also been a filming site for a BBC documentary, "The Worst Jobs in Britain," and an episode of the popular television series, "Doctor Who." The site holds annual events, including Halloween ghost walks and tours, Christmas carol concerts, and seasonal festivals. It also caters to children with Easter egg hunts and summer pottery workshops. In the last few years, the museum has opened Flushed with Pride, a toilet exhibition featuring a Japanese imported toilet and toilets dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.     Great museum with demonstrations. Watch Rita make pottery roses. Covers the whole process of pottery making, you can see inside the bottle kilns. Nice cafe and gift shop. You do need to phone to book....  more »

    What a fantastic museum , full of information and history of our once great pottery industry. The staff were very obliging and informative , I don’t think there was a time where me and the wife said shall we not bother with this bit , it was all amazing , I shall be back with the mother in law who worked in the industry she will love it. Well done everyone a fabulous museum right on our doorstep.

    Had a fab day out here, great history and we'll well looked after site. Staff were lovely and chatty. Lots do to for kids if they enjoy arty things. Cafe was nice too. Easy parking.
