Discover where William Wordsworth lived and wrote some of the greatest poetry in the English language. Step inside Wordsworth Grasmere, where little has changed since the Wordsworths resided there, and imagine their day-to-day lives. Wander through the garden--restored to reflect the way the Wordsworths kept it--that so inspired the poet. Take a guided tour for extra insights into life at the cottage. Children can participate in hands-on learning games in the family activity room. Head next door to the Wordsworth museum, where you will find the greatest collection of the Wordsworths’ poems, letters, and journals in the world. • Beautifully maintained house kept in the style Wordsworth would've lived in with many of his original furnishings. The team have done a great job of designing the house from research into the journals and writings of the people who both lived and visited Dove Cottage. There's a lovely little cafe on site, and a beautiful view of the lake from the cottage and local town. And must-visit, and especially good on a rainy day.
  • Don’t forget that it’s his birthplace. Actual residence is at Dove Cottage and so is the museum. I was mistaken and lost valuable hours but good place guys even if you’re not in to literature. Wordsworth was a great person and left a big name in history and literature.
