Prinknash Abbey (pronounced locally variously as "Prinidge/Prinnish") (IPA: ) is a Roman Catholic monastery in the Vale of Gloucester in the Diocese of Clifton, near the village of Cranham. It belongs to the English Province of the Subiaco Cassinese Congregation, which is itself part of the worldwide Benedictine Confederation. It is noted for its manufacturing of incense, and is the largest manufacturer of incense in Europe. [1]

  • Very pleasant lunch. Reduced menu at the present time, but still worth a visit. Clean, tidy, well spaced tables and good covid protocols.  more »
  • not so much an "abbey" more a home for monks in a very secluded setting. You can drive up to the edge of the property and the Chapel is open to visitors. The views out over the Gloucester plain are....  more »

  • Had a great few hours here feeding deer and peacocks out of the hand!... I had to book quickly and get time off because, unfortunately, this is there last weekend before closing for good! But we have been told the animals have all been found nice new homes 'all things wild' (except for the fish, they didn't know what was happening with them).
  • Great place! The animals are all well looked after, and happy to interact with the public. The more nervous ones are behind fences for everyone's happiness and safety. Feed stations around each area, where for a nominal cost, you can get the appropriate food for the animals in the enclosure you are walking through. There are also nice areas where you can sit and just enjoy the views.
