Escape from the city at Pollok Country Park, a 146-hectare (360-acre) expanse of well-manicured green space, previously named the Best Park in Europe. Stretch your legs on miles of trails, and choose a quiet picnic spot to forget about urban life. Before the building of a highway in 1994, the park was the largest urban green space in Europe. Visit shaggy Scottish Highland cattle, and view the eclectic antique and art collection of shipping magnate William Burrell. If you want to go faster than your own two feet can carry you, the park has also opened three mountain-biking routes. I honestly don't know what we would have done without Pollok Park nearby during the various lockdowns. It has literally been a breath of fresh air - a lovely river walk, Pollok House's grandeur above..... more »

Spoilt by dogs . It's a shame . It's a County Park with a large presence of Wildlife , many dog owners treat them as dog toys to be hunted for fun , it's a disturbing thing to see . Well behaved dogs are fine , but over friendly dogs covered in mud or river water , aggressive dogs and noisy dogs don't really fit this tranquil splendor . Follow the Countryside Code PLEASE ! Remember wildlife cannot feed in bad weather so give them a chance when the rain stops especially during the breeding session , and some birds are strictly territorial and cannot feed outside their own patch . Enjoy this fine grand park , let it prosper . Photography is best done in the first and last hour of daylight , I strongly recommend that !!!!! There should be OTTERS and RABBITS , and there would be if dogs were controlled properly .
