Take a trip through space and time at Dynamic Earth, a science center situated at the foot of Edinburgh’s Salisbury Crags. Opened in 1999, the center was the centerpiece of an urban regeneration plan meant to bring vitality to a former industrial zone. Today, the center teaches visitors about the processes that shaped our planet over millions of years, from the Big Bang to abiogenesis, plate tectonics, and glaciation. Use the center’s 3D and 4D interactive exhibits to witness the creation of the Earth, and then follow the planet through millions of years of evolution, touching, feeling, and smelling the adventure as you proceed through history. Visit the site’s ShowDome to see 360-degree dome films about astronomy and space exploration. Using our custom trip planner, Edinburgh attractions like Dynamic Earth can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

It is a lovely place to go and can spend for hours, even though we don’t go to the tour, we still can spend time on the cafe level, children loves it. The shop is full of interesting toys, staff can too nice to not to tell children off for playing the toys. Recently cafe introduced an edible straw, has different flavours, e.g strawberry, chocolate and lemon etc., v. Nice and not too sweet at all! Highly recommended to try these straws. And of course dynamite earth is a place to go too!

An excellent place to visit if you like sciences. Very much suitable for children and families, but regardless of the age you can experience an entertaining time journey through various phases of the development of the planet earth. There are also 3 different shows, the one I found (based on the timing of your visit) was about the astronomy of the universe and the link between the human body and the stars. Great place to visit
