Located on the docks beside the floating harbor, M Shed tells the story of the historic city of Bristol. Situated in a converted transit shed, the museum reveals the city's character through a combination of media in three different galleries. The museum's exhibits combine video, photography, interactive features, and displays of over 3,000 artifacts. With exhibits ranging from the prehistoric era to the city's involvement in slave trading to modern-day Bristol, you get a genuine feel for this important port city. For an unobstructed view of the rivers and canals, head to the top floor and enjoy the vista. If you do not know anything about the city and you want to learn more, this is the best place. It maybe useful if you knew the area, as we were left scratching our heads from time to time. My 11yo loved it. Very interactive.

Really good way to get to know Bristol, past and present. Good to see the darker history of Bristol - slavery - exhibited not hidden. Lots of interactive exhibits, good for both children and adults. Free to public, including visitors to area - donations welcomed. Good, reasonably priced gift shop and cafes.
