    During lockdown we have been coming down here most evenings for a walk and sometimes during the day at the weekend. We have really enjoyed it as a family and are planning to carry on coming down here....  more »

    During lockdown I found myself becoming increasingly middle aged and looking at ordance survey maps for new places to walk! Having done all the country parks I spotted Norsey woods. What a treasure...  more »

    Norsey woods is a wonderful bronze age site. Evidence of an ancient coppiced wood. There is also evidence of first world war training trenches. The Romans were here too and there is a protected burial mound. Sensibly, dead trees are left to age and wither to attract ants, and other small creatures. Wonderful fungi is evident too. It is a fabulous place to teach children history and botany, bluebell time is a dream and read the brass plaques on the rustic seats and see how generations have loved this wood.

    Popped over to take the dog for a walk and their were a couple of trails to follow, great to walk amongst the bluebells and the trails were easy to follow as they were marked out well. Toilets are on site but no cafe unfortunately, car park was to small (was a bank holiday Monday).....overall worth a visit to kill a few hours by having a stroll.
