Since we had rental car we took our guests to Drake’s Seat before heading down to Magens Bay for the day. Nice view, limited parking, free, be careful of the traffic, which was limited during COVID. more »

Cuz you might miss it. We almost did a second time if it weren’t for a couple of locals visiting as well. Yes it’s a seat but you could see why it’s just a seat. The look out was as far as the eye... more »

This is a scenic overlook, a vista for an island photograph. It has a small parking lot along a narrow road following the ridge top. There is a park bench on the uphill side of the road which serves as a standing for the "seat." It is possible that some of Drake's crew members had an observation point near here but do you think Sir Francis himself climbed up that height?

The beauty alone is really a breath of fresh air .. Especially looking down on Magen's Bay Park from there.. Early in the morning is a good time to come as the sun is raising.. You can see the Atlantic ocean and the British Virgin Islands also . The evenings offers a romantic lane setting in or out of the car. Just bring your camera and dinner...
