The natural rock citadel of Uchisar Castle offers a panoramic view over the surrounding landscape of valleys, mountains, and towns. The tallest fairy chimney in Cappadocia is carved with numerous rooms, tunnels, stairs, rock tombs, and a large water cistern. Notice the millstone doors at the entrances of the rooms, which used to control access to the castle. Today most of the rooms on the north side serve as pigeon houses. Note the simple Byzantine graves on top of the castle, which have been weathered and ransacked. Local women selling traditional souvenirs typically line the road that leads to the castle.     We just took pictures of it as we were not permitted to actually go to the top due to the weather. It is really beautiful and quite tall. Nest to see the city along the one side of it.  more »

    This mountain is ok but you can see so many places like this in Cappadocia for free. Just go on a hike, walk around and you will find many places like this.  more »

    Steeps are little hard to climb but this formation is amazing. It was fun up there but the view was okay. Still a nice experience with friends. If you are with kids, i wouldnt recommend it

    Impressive cave castle though it seems more like stacked layers of residential dwellings... Great panoramic views on top! With the token admission fee and the start of your Pigeon valley hike back to Göreme, this sight fits into the itinerary perfectly!
