  This was a great buying experience. The shop is in the basement, tastefully decorated, of the Ayasoluk hotel, which I think is a good thing for customers as the hotel reflects on the carpet shop and.....  more »

  Truly a kind experience. It’s nice not to have the extreme pressure to buy. It felt like they were just happy to help answer questions and were OK if you didn’t want to buy anything.

  I was stopped kindly by owner of Black Sheep Carpets, Aydin; unlike most vendors in Turkey Aydin was very knowledgable about where I was from in America. We talked easily as instant friends. Although I am a student and unable to afford any of the beautiful pieces in Black Sheep Carpets, I felt such a kinship with the owner and employees, that I wanted something to show of it. Being a bicycle fanatic I bought saddle bags for my bicycle! I was repurposing a traditional shoulder bag from eastern Turkey, where Aydin is originally from. He was very knowledgable, fun, and gave me an honest deal for a bag that I love.
