Completed in 1575, Selimiye Mosque is a World Heritage Site that demonstrates the cultural elevation and strength of the Ottoman Empire. As you approach the mosque, observe the four slender minarets that reach 83 m (272 ft). The mosque's simple stone and marble facade impresses, while the interior is completely symmetrical and lacks excessive detailing. Although visually pleasing, its main purpose was to remind the sultans that humility and faith would bring them closer to God. After visiting the site, head to the nearby gardens for a rest.     Great architecture. Nice attendants. If you are not dressed appropriately, they are ready to help you. Great market downstairs.

    Beautiful mosque built by amazing Mimar Sinan. You can feel the peace inside. It has the highest minarets in Turkey and the most beautiful dome. The museum inside is interesting and interactive.
