Once synonymous with the mysterious and inaccessible Shangri-La, today Kathmandu draws an ever-increasing number of tourists, catering to independent travelers of various budgets.
Make the 26th (Sun) a memorable day with a climbing tour. On the 30th (Thu), spend a fun day on foot with Walking tours. Gorakhpur, India to Kathmandu is an approximately 9-hour car ride. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 0.2 hours traveling from Gorakhpur to Kathmandu. While traveling from Gorakhpur, expect much colder days and little chillier nights in Kathmandu, ranging from highs of 34°C to lows of 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sat) so you can travel to Pokhara.

Pokhara, the second largest city in the country, attracts visitors with its superlative natural wonders and easygoing atmosphere.

Do a combination of car and flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
