Caacupe

— 8 nights
Founded by grenadier Carlos Murphy in 1770, the city of Caacupe serves as the capital of the Cordillera department.
Change things up with these side-trips from Caacupe: Paraguari (Salto Cristal & Eco Reserva Mbatovi), Parque Nacional Ybycui (in Ybycui) and Villarrica (Museo Fermin Lopez & Parque Del Guaira). There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia San Buenaventura de Yaguaron, take in the pleasant sights at El Escondido, make a trip to Polifuncional Marianela, and take in the dramatic scenery at Salto Siete Caidas.

To see reviews, other places to visit, where to stay, and more tourist information, use the Caacupe trip builder website.

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major aiport is Silvio Pettirossi International Airport. In April, daytime highs in Caacupe are 34°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 30th (Thu) to allow time for travel back home.
