The Heart of Tasmania
Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.On the 10th (Sat), stroll around City Park, then identify plant and animal life at Cataract Gorge Reserve, then get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Lilydale Falls.

Surrounded by shark-infested waters and connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus of land, Port Arthur ranks among Australia's top historical sites and heritage areas.Kick off your visit on the 12th (Mon): browse the exhibits of Port Arthur Historic Site, get a dose of the wild on Wild Ocean Tasmania, and then pause for some photo ops at Dog Line.
