Utstein Kloster and Helleristninger (petroglyphs) Austre Amoy are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Skagenkaien and Old Stavanger. There's more to do: hike along Hike Oygardstol to Langavatn via Kjerag and pause for some serene contemplation at Stavanger Cathedral.
