Finland's largest and most popular ski resort, the fell of Levi provides excellent slopes and lively nightlife in an enchanting setting.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): identify plant and animal life at Powerun Adventures, then look for gifts at Jemes Sport, and then stroll through Santa"s Cottage & Pet Farm. On your second day here, make a trip to Giewont Husky Adventures, experience rural life at Ounaskievari Reindeer Farm, and then take an in-depth tour of Samiland.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Levi is an approximately 10-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Traveling from Amsterdam to Levi, you'll lose 1 hour due to the time zone difference. Prepare for cooler weather when traveling from Amsterdam in December: high temperatures in Levi hover around -6°C and lows are around -15°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to travel to Inari.

Inari

Inari is Finland's largest, most sparsely populated municipality, with four official languages, more than any other in the country. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Inari Reindeer Farm and Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church. Change things up with these side-trips from Inari: Gold Prospector Museum (in Tankavaara) and Saariselka (Saariselka Reindeer Farm & Hippupuoti Gift Shop). There's much more to do: get great views at Otsamo Fell, see the interesting displays at Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, wander the wide-open spaces of Reindeer Farm Petri Mattus, and experience rural life at Tuula's Reindeer.

Getting from Levi to Inari by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In December in Inari, expect temperatures between -7°C during the day and -17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) early enough to drive to Rovaniemi.

An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): stop by LAURI Handicraft Shop & Atelier, Head underground at Syvasenvaara Fell, then look for all kinds of wild species at Napapiirin Porofarmi, and finally examine the collection at Santa's House of Snowmobiles. Keep things going the next day: get in on the family fun at Moomin Snowcastle, get interesting insight from Tatuka Reindeerfarm, and then get engrossed in the history at Rovaniemi Local History Museum.
