Stresa is a town and comune of about 5,000 residents on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, about 90km northwest of Milan. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Stresa: Lago Maggiore (in Verbania) and Angera (Santuario della Madonna della Riva, Rocca Borromeo, &more). Traveling by car from Stresa to Locarno takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. June in Locarno sees daily highs of 30°C and lows of 18°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
