Once synonymous with the mysterious and inaccessible Shangri-La, today Kathmandu draws an ever-increasing number of tourists, catering to independent travelers of various budgets.
Step out of the city life by going to Nature & Wildlife Tours and River Rafting & Tubing. Visit Swayambhunath Temple and Tridevi Temple for their historical value. There's lots more to do: stop by S.K. Handicrafts Export, take a stroll through Thamel, explore the world behind art at Patan Museum, and pause for some photo ops at Universal Crafts.

Nagarkot is a former Village Development Committee located 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nepal in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone and as of 2015 part of Nagarkot Municipality. Start off your visit on the 11th (Sat): stop by Peacock Shop and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nyatapola Temple.

You can drive from Kirtipur to Nagarkot in an hour. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in May, and nighttime lows around 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
