Finland's largest and most populated metropolis, the maritime town of Helsinki boasts varied architecture, a lively cafe culture, and plethora of picturesque natural delights.
Sea Fortress Suomenlinna and Mannerheim Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Discover out-of-the-way places like Kallio Church and Natural History Museum (Luonnontieteellinen Museo). Step out of Helsinki to go to Tammisaari and see Guide-Matti, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: admire the landmark architecture of Temppeliaukio Church, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Helsinki Cathedral, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kamppi Chapel of Silence, and admire the masterpieces at Kansallisgalleria.
