Byron Bay

— 7 nights
Named after Lord Byron's grandfather, Byron Bay is not only famous as the easternmost point of Australia, but even more so as one of the liveliest vacation spots in the country.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre and Craig Parry Photography. Get out of town with these interesting Byron Bay side-trips: Ballina (Big Prawn & Ballina Naval & Maritime Museum). There's lots more to do: take a memorable tour with Tours, enjoy the sand and surf at Belongil Beach, enjoy some diversion at Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Cape Byron Walking Track.

To find where to stay, maps, ratings, and more tourist information, you can read our Byron Bay trip planner.

Kiama to Byron Bay is an approximately 6.5-hour combination of train and flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Kiama in July: highs in Byron Bay hover around 24°C, while lows dip to 7°C. You will have some time to spend on the 10th (Sat) before leaving for home.
