Famed for its landscape of unusually shaped stone formations and churches cut into the natural rocks, Goreme sits in the central part of the country, an area originally settled during Roman times.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Goreme Open-Air Museum and Hacıbektaş Veli Müzesi. Step off the beaten path and head to Zelve Open Air Museum and Hacibektas. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Goreme: Mazi Yeralti Sehri (in Urgup), Nevsehir (Kaymakli & Hacibektas Ataturk House Museum) and Gumusler Monastery (in Nigde). Nevsehir to Goreme is an approximately half hour car ride. In April, daily temperatures in Goreme can reach 22°C, while at night they dip to 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 16th (Fri) to allow time for the car ride to Kayseri.

Kayseri is a large and industrialised city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Mescidi Aksa Mosque, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Seyyid Burhaneddin Hz. Turbesi, then contemplate the long history of Hunat Hatun Complex, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Burunguz Camii.
