Bahama is an unincorporated community in northern Durham County, North Carolina.HistoryBahama was originally settled around 1750 as the community of Balltown until the name was changed to reflect three leading families of the community: ll, rris, and ngum. Step out of Bahama to go to Hurdle Mills and see Rock of Ages Winery, which is approximately 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Stagville Plantation and examine the collection at Dukes of Hazzard museum.
