Geelong

Geelong is a port city located on Corio Bay and the Barwon River, in the state of Victoria, Australia, 75km south-west of the state capital, Melbourne. Get out of town with these interesting Geelong side-trips: Otway Fly Treetop Adventures (in Weeaproinah), Anglesea Art House (in Anglesea) and Ballarat (Chinese Open Monument, Sovereign Hill, &more). There's still lots to do: explore and take pictures at The Great Ocean Road, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Werribee Open Range Zoo, get a new perspective on things with Sea All Dolphin Swims, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Eastern Beach Reserve.

You can fly from Adelaide to Geelong in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. The time zone changes from Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), which is usually a 0.5 hour difference. Traveling from Adelaide in December, expect slightly colder with lows of 13°C in Geelong. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
