London to Penrith is an approximately 3- hour train ride. You can also drive; or do a combination of flight and train. When traveling from London in April, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Penrith: temperatures range from 12°C by day to 7°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can go by car to Coniston.
