City of Sun

As Valencia’s second largest city and one of the most well-known along the Costa Blanca, Alicante has an enchanting atmosphere that blends rich history with animated beach life.
El Casco Antiguo de Benidorm and Castillo de Santa Barbara are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will get to explore Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Alicante (MACA) and Museo Escolar de Pusol. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Alicante: Benidorm (Playa de Levante & Platja de Ponent), Valor Chocolate Museum (in Villajoyosa) and Museo Del Teatro Romano (in Cartagena). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Explanada de Espana, indulge in some personalized pampering at Spa Hammam Bienestar Ancestral, see the interesting displays at Museo del Ferrocarril, and admire the natural beauty at El Palmeral.

For other places to visit, ratings, traveler tips, and tourist information, go to the Alicante attractions planner.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiports are Alicante International Airport, San Javier Airport and Región de Murcia International Airport. In February, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
