A city famed for its underground music scene, Bergen also serves as the gateway to the fjords of Norway's western coastline.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bergen: Fjell Fortress Museum Vest (in Fjell), The Coastal Museum in Oygarden (in Rong) and Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall (in Norheimsund). Spend the 3rd (Thu) exploring at Hardangerfjord. There's lots more to do: take in the waterfront at Bryggen, hike along Vidden Trail between Mt. Floyen and Mt. Ulriken, see the interesting displays at Troldhaugen Edvard Grieg Museum, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Ulriken.
