Sydney to Launceston is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train, ferry, and bus; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Traveling from Sydney in December, things will get little chillier in Launceston: highs are around 25°C and lows about 10°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Tue) so you can go by car to Hobart.

Traveling by car from Launceston to Hobart takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In December, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Eaglehawk Neck.

Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): appreciate the extensive heritage of Port Arthur Historic Site, explore the activities along Waterfall Bay, and then take a tour by water with Wild Ocean Tasmania.
