Malaga

— 4 nights

Capital of the Costa del Sol

Modern yet historic, Málaga is a lively city famous for being the birthplace of Pablo Picasso.
Alhambra and Generalife are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Alcazaba and Mirador de San Nicolas for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Marbella Old Town (in Marbella), Granada (Basilica de San Juan de Dios, Albayzin, &more) and Ronda (Puente Nuevo, Old City, &more). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Malaga Cathedral, explore the historical opulence of Castillo de Gibralfaro, take in panoramic vistas at Balcony of Europe, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Church of El Salvador.

To find where to stay, more things to do, and tourist information, go to the Malaga route maker tool.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Málaga Airport, Jerez Airport and Sevilla Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 34°C, and evening lows to 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Wed) so you can travel back home.
