Toulouse

— 3 nights

La Ville Rose (Pink City)

On the Garonne River, Toulouse is on the site of an ancient Roman settlement, and even today, many of the smaller streets follow their Roman counterparts, while many of the red brick buildings are built in a pseudo-Roman style.
Chateau Comtal and Forteresse de Najac will appeal to history buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to O'Vineyards and Garonne. Explore Toulouse's surroundings by going to Carcassonne Center (Chateau et Remparts de la Cite de Carcassonne & Eglise Saint-Nazaire) and Musee Toulouse-Lautrec (in Albi). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Basilique Saint-Sernin, steep yourself in history at Church of Les Jacobins, explore the world behind art at Musee des Augustins, and test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms.

To see where to stay, traveler tips, maps, and other tourist information, you can read our Toulouse itinerary maker website.
