Tiger City

Norway's capital city, Oslo boasts a thousand years of history and a diverse mix of architecture that blends old, new, and ultra-modern.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Akershus Castle and Fortress (Akershus Slott og Festning) and 22 July Centre. Museum-lovers will get to explore Viking Ship Museum and Kon-Tiki Museum. Explore Oslo's surroundings by going to Spiralen (in Drammen), Marinemuseet (The Norwegian Naval Museum) (in Horten) and Norwegian Mining Museum (in Kongsberg). The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Oscarsborg Fortress, appreciate the extensive heritage of Oslomarka, examine the collection at Botanical Gardens (Botanisk Hage og Museum), and ski along the peaceful trails at Nordmarka.

Plan my Oslo trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

If you are flying in from Hungary, the closest major aiports are Oslo Gardermoen Airport, Sandefjord Airport, Torp and Moss Airport, Rygge. In September, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
