Nagarkot is a former Village Development Committee located 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nepal in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone and as of 2015 part of Nagarkot Municipality. National Art Gallery and Nyatapola Temple are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Doleshwor Mahadeva Temple and Siddhi Lakshmi Temple for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Bhaktapur (Living Traditions Museum, Peacock Shop, &more). You can drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and car. In July, daytime highs in Nagarkot are 34°C, while nighttime lows are 23°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Sun) early enough to travel to Pokhara.

You can fly from Nagarkot to Pokhara in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of car and bus. In July in Pokhara, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 26°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) to allow time to travel to Sauraha.

Sauraha

The tourist town of Sauraha stands on the edge of the Chitwan National Park and acts as the eastern gateway to a World Heritage-protected area.

Getting from Pokhara to Sauraha by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Pokhara in July, expect a bit warmer with lows of 30°C in Sauraha. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sun) early enough to drive to Lumbini.

Sagarmatha National Park
