3 days in Sauraha & Parasi Itinerary

The tourist town of Sauraha stands on the edge of the Chitwan National Park and acts as the eastern gateway to a World Heritage-protected area.

Kick off your visit on the 12th (Thu): explore the galleries of Sauraha Art Gallery and then explore the striking landscape of Chitwan National Park. On your second day here, see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, explore the activities along Narayani River, and then make a trip to Tharu Cultural Museum & Research Center.

Kathmandu to Sauraha is an approximately 2.5-hour combination of car and flight. You can also take a bus; or drive. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Kathmandu in September; daily highs in Sauraha reach 39°C and lows reach 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Parasi.
