Cowes

— 2 nights
Resting on the northern coast of Philip Island, Cowes is sandwiched between a coast and a forest.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cape Woolamai Beach and Pyramid Rock. You'll explore and learn at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and National Vietnam Veterans Museum. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Phillip Island Wildlife Park, do a tasting at Phillip Island Winery, get in on the family fun at A Maze'N Things, and step off the mainland to explore Koala Conservation Centre.

To see traveler tips, other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, go to the Cowes road trip app.

Melbourne to Cowes is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of train and taxi; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in January, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sun) so you can go by car back home.
