Cassis

Cassis is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France.It is a popular tourist destination, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered inlets called calanques. Start off your visit on the 30th (Tue): take in the waterfront at Port de Cassis. On the next day, take in the dramatic natural features at Calanques and then cruise along Calanque de Port-Miou.

Take a train from Lyon to Cassis in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. In July in Cassis, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 22°C at night. You'll have a few hours on the 1st (Thu) to wrap things up before traveling to Arles.
