Surat Thani

— 17 nights
Literally translated as "City of Good People," Surat Thani ranks as the eighth-largest city in Thailand and the historical seat from which the Sriwijaya kingdom ruled much of Southeast Asia.
Change things up with these side-trips from Surat Thani: Khanom (Tham Khao Wang Thong, Thong Ching Bay, &more), Sichon (Si Khit Waterfall, Wat Chedi, &more) and Cheow Lan Lake (in Ban Ta Khun). Spend the 13th (Mon) exploring nature at Khao Sok National Park. Spend the 26th (Sun) exploring nature at Khao Nan National Park. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Surat Thani City Pillar Shrine, witness a stunning natural landmark at Tham Khao Plu Hot Spring, kick back and relax at Nai Phlao Beach, and take in the dramatic scenery at Krung Ching Waterfall.
