In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Sunset Beach Park and Nuuanu Pali Lookout. Relax by the water at Kapiolani Regional Park and Kailua Beach Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Honolulu: Ko Olina Lagoons (in Kapolei) and Haleiwa (Waimea Bay & Laniakea Beach). Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of USS Arizona Memorial, take in the pleasant sights at Diamond Head State Monument, pause for some photo ops at King Kamehameha Statue, and immerse yourself in nature at Puu Ualakaa State Park.

For traveler tips, photos, and other tourist information, read our Honolulu itinerary builder.
