Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
On the 5th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, then kick back and relax at Tamarindo Beach, and then stop by Dolores Shop. Keep things going the next day: get a taste of life in the country at Pura Aventura, stroll through Monkey Park, and then stroll through Playa Conchal.
