Tórshavn is the capital and largest town of the Faroe Islands. Get outdoors at Mulafossur Waterfall and RIB62. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Tinganes and Kirkjubour Cathedral. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Torshavn: Nolsoyar Viti (in Nolsoy), Gasadalur Tunnel (in Gasadalur) and Trollkonufingur (in Sandavagur). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Torshavn Cathedral, stop by Ostrom, examine the collection at National Museum of the Faroe Islands, and contemplate the long history of Skansin Fortress.

Ilulissat, formerly Jakobshavn or Jacobshaven, is a town in the Qaasuitsup municipality in western Greenland, located approximately 350km north of the Arctic Circle. On the 5th (Fri), see the winter wonderland with PGI Greenland, go for a walk through Sermermiut, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Ilulissat Icefjord. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 6th (Sat): explore the striking landscape at Jakobshavn Glacier and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Eqip Sermia Glacier.

Iceland's southernmost village, Vik, sports some of the country's wildest and most dramatic coastline.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Black Sand Beach and Reynisfjara Beach. Get a sense of the local culture at Skogar Museum and Rutshellir Cave. Explore Vik's surroundings by going to Kirkjubaejarklaustur (Scenic Green Lava Walk, Fjadrargljufur Canyon, &more). Traveling by combination of flight and bus from Ilulissat to Vik takes 11 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight, shuttle, and bus. The time zone changes from West Greenland Standard Time (WGT) to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is usually a 3 hour difference. Traveling from Ilulissat in August, Vik is a bit warmer at night with lows of 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Reykjavik.
