A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Explore hidden gems such as Castello di Grinzane Cavour and Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice. Do some cultural sightseeing at Santuario della Consolata and Church of San Lorenzo. Traveling by train from Marseille to Lyon takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. Traveling from Marseille in October, things will get slightly colder in Lyon: highs are around 21°C and lows about 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Geneva.
