An urban center set amongst the great Arctic wilderness, Rovaniemi serves as the capital of Lapland province.

Nestled among vast forests and fells, Luosto represents a small idyllic resort village set on the edge of Pyha-Luosto National Park.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Fri): do some two-wheel cruising with Luosto Adventures, then go deep underground at Amethyst Mine Lapland, then get a dose of the wild on Arctic Husky Farm, and finally identify plant and animal life at Kopara Reindeer Park.

Saariselka

Outdoor pursuits--ranging from cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to reindeer safaris and chasing Northern Lights--draw the largest number of tourists to Saariselka.
Venture out of the city with trips to Inari (Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church, Siida - Sami Museum and Nature Center, &more). There's still lots to do: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, fly down the slopes at Urho Kekkonen National Park, gear up at Saariselka Ski & Sport Resort, and stop by Hippupuoti Gift Shop.
