Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Take a break from the city and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and River Rafting & Tubing. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Off-Road Tours and Spas. Step out of Tamarindo with an excursion to Playa Hermosa in Playa Hermosa--about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, stop by Organic Products by Coco Beauty Spa, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Monkey Park.
