In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Step out of the city life by going to Waikiki Beach and Kailua Beach Park. Shop till you drop at Ala Moana Center and Ko Hana Distillers. Explore Honolulu's surroundings by going to Haleiwa (Sunset Beach Park, Shark Diving, &more). There's still lots to do: stroll the grounds of USS Arizona Memorial, make a trip to Battleship Missouri Memorial, see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and contemplate the long history of Iolani Palace.

For maps, where to stay, other places to visit, and tourist information, you can read our Honolulu travel route site.

Baltimore to Honolulu is an approximately 13- hour combination of train, subway, and flight. You can also fly; or do a combination of train and flight. Traveling from Baltimore to Honolulu, you'll gain 5 hours due to the time zone difference. Expect a daytime high around 88°F in July, and nighttime lows around 75°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) early enough to travel to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
