In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
USS Arizona Memorial and Iolani Palace will appeal to history buffs. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and Makapuu Lighthouse Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Sunset Beach Park (in Haleiwa), Swim with Dolphins (in Waianae) and Kailua (Kailua Beach Park & Lanikai Beach). The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Waikiki Beach, hike along Diamond Head State Monument, see the interesting displays at USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park, and steep yourself in history at Battleship Missouri Memorial.

Plan for much warmer temperatures traveling from Fredericton in November, with highs in Honolulu at 34°C and lows at 26°C. Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii

Thanks to its favorable location near a mountain range blocking the northeasterly trade winds, Kailua-Kona gets little rainfall, allowing adventure seekers and nature lovers a chance to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year.
On the 16th (Sat), explore the striking landscape of Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, get close to the beloved marine mammals with a swim-with-the-dolphins experience, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Mokuaikaua Church. On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Puako Petroglyph Archaeological Preserve, steep yourself in history at Puukohola National Historic Park, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.

For photos and other tourist information, read Kailua-Kona visit planning app.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Honolulu to Kailua-Kona in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in November, and nighttime lows around 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sun) so you can drive to Hilo.
