Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Do your shopping at National Gallery of Denmark and Illum. Get a sense of the local culture at Rosenborg Castle and National Museum of Denmark. Go for a jaunt from Copenhagen to Slangerup to see Bureso about 36 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: wander the streets of Nyhavn, make a trip to Stroeget, look for gifts at Illums Bolighus, and enjoy breathtaking views from The Round Tower.

Paris, France to Copenhagen is an approximately 5-hour combination of train, flight, and subway. You can also drive; or take a train. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Paris in May: highs in Copenhagen hover around 19°C, while lows dip to 9°C. Do a combination of train and flight from Stockholm to Helsinki in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Stockholm to Helsinki. In May in Helsinki, expect temperatures between 17°C during the day and 5°C at night.
