Crossroads of the South

The Mediterranean city of Narbonne links to the nearby Canal du Midi and the Aude River by the Canal de la Robine, which runs through the center of town.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Narbonne: Eglise Notre-Dame de la Nativite (in Baixas), Beziers (The nine Locks of Fonseranes & Paroisse Saint Nazaire) and Vias (Domaine Preignes Le Vieux & Europark). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Abbaye de Fontfroide, admire the landmark architecture of Cathedrale St-Just, take in the spiritual surroundings of Palais des Archeveques, and explore the stunning scenery at Cirque de Navacelles.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Béziers-Vias Airport, Perpignan-Rivesaltes (Llabanère) Airport, Carcassonne Airport and Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport. In June, plan for daily highs up to 30°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
