City of Sun

As Valencia’s second largest city and one of the most well-known along the Costa Blanca, Alicante has an enchanting atmosphere that blends rich history with animated beach life.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Playa de Levante and El Casco Antiguo de Benidorm. Get out of town with these interesting Alicante side-trips: Mirador Cronistas de Espana (in Altea), Benidorm (Balcon del Mediterraneo, Placa del Castell, &more) and Parque Natural de la Serra Gelada (in El Albir). Next up on the itinerary: step into the grandiose world of Castillo de Santa Barbara, stop by Los Ilustres, kick back and relax at Cabo Roig Beach, and stroll through Guadalest Valley.

To see maps, photos, traveler tips, and tourist information, refer to the Alicante sightseeing planner.

Florence, Italy to Alicante is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Florence in November, things will get somewhat warmer in Alicante: highs are around 24°C and lows about 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
