Madison to Kihei is an approximately 14-hour combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 4 hours traveling from Madison to Kihei. Plan for much hotter temperatures traveling from Madison in December, with highs in Kihei at 82°F and lows at 66°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) early enough to drive to Hana.

Hana

Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
Get outdoors at Wai'anapanapa State Park and Honokalani Black Sand Beach. Explore hidden gems such as Pipiwai Trail and Bamboo Forest. Explore Hana's surroundings by going to Haleakala Crater (in Haleakala National Park) and Huialoha Church (in Kaupo). Spend the 12th (Sat) exploring the striking scenery along Hana Highway - Road to Hana. And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Red Sand Beach - Kaihalulu Beach, Head underground at Hana Lava Tubes, tour the pleasant surroundings at Hamoa Beach, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Kahanu Garden.

Getting from Kihei to Hana by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: fly. In December, daily temperatures in Hana can reach 82°F, while at night they dip to 66°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
