Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Monkey Park, then get a taste of life in the country at Pura Aventura, and then find something for the whole family at Black Stallion Eco Park & Estates. Here are some ideas for day two: get interesting insight from Tours, enjoy the sand and surf at Tamarindo Beach, and then stop by Organic Products by Coco Beauty Spa.

Liberia to Tamarindo is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sun) so you can go by car to Monteverde.

Monteverde

Monteverde is all about natural attractions, not surprising for an eco-tourism hotspot known for its cloud forests and rich diversity of animal life.
On the 2nd (Mon), tour the pleasant surroundings at Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve and then stroll through Ranario Monteverde Frog Pond. On the 3rd (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stop by Women Artisans Cooperative Santa Elena and Monteverde, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, then experience rural life at El Trapiche Tour, and finally learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at The Bat Jungle.
