City of a Thousand Trades

Britain's second-largest city, Birmingham was known as the City of a Thousand Trades and the Workshop of the World in the Victorian era.
Venture out of the city with trips to Westonbirt Arboretum (in Tetbury), Stratford-upon-Avon (The Battle of Edgehill Exhibition, Holy Trinity Church, &more) and Warwick (Guy's Cliffe & Warwick Castle). Pack the 29th (Thu) with family-friendly diversions at Alton Towers Theme Park. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Birmingham Back to Backs, explore the galleries of Aston Hall, get to know the resident critters at Cotswold Falconry Centre, and admire the masterpieces at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
